Foundation Stage

 

In addition to the programmes for festivals, Step Inside offers some storytelling and dance sessions specially for the younger audience.
Stories are very interactive with action and song, and plenty of props to help sustain children's interest.
Both the story and the dance each sessions last between approximately 30 minutes each.

Dance workshops are based on world dance styles (see dance page).

The Tiny Seed
Come on a journey with the tiny seed as it discovers the joys of riding high on the wind and the dangers of flying too close to the sun!
The Tiny Seed Dance Workshop using brightly coloured scarves as dance props to explore the story and create a wonderfully visual and tactile experience. (see photo below)

Grandmother Winter Story Performance What makes the snowflakes fall? Why are the lambs jumping and springing? Tricia tells the story of Grandmother Winter with decorated umbrellas which open to show the changing of the seasons. A multi-sensory experience to delight and enrich.

Oi! Get on our train!
Join the engine driver in adventures meeting forlorn fairy tale characters and taking them on a picnic. An adaptation of the John Burningham classic.

Can be enhanced with Choo-Choo Ch'Boogie dance (based on easy Lindy Hop moves).
