About Me

General information

I am Tricia George, and Step Inside is my business name. I am Scottish-born and now live in South-East London. As a storyteller I work mainly in primary schools across South-East England.
My travels have taken me across Europe, to Morocco, the Caribbean, America, Mexico, Iceland, Rajasthan and Ghana.
I am also a fully qualified teacher, have references and a CRB check.

Storytelling

I have performed in over 350 primary schools, as well as libraries and summer playschemes. I have worked with Cloth of Gold Arts on their 2010 Gypsy Roma Traveller History project. My storytelling to children inspired art work from which huge banners were created and displayed at London City Hall.

My storytelling and writing workshops to children of Hitherfield Primary School in Lambeth led them to write their own stories in the Roma paramisi style. As a result the book "Gypsy Roma and Traveller inspired stories" was published with their work.

I have been writer in residence over 12 weeks at Knights Temple Grove School in Lewisham. This has been an exciting project involving drama, poetry, storytelling and improvisation to develop writing across the school.

I have studied a range of world dance, (See dance page for full details)
